The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear meltdown is an ongoing disaster that looks to keep getting worse. They don't know what to do with the radioactive coolant water, so they built a perpetually expanding forest of tanks which are leaking so badly that radiation levels are 18 times the upper limit of what their equipment could detect, which they found out when they got better equipment.
