I managed to miss seeing the most hyped anime movie of the time that I was most heavily into anime. There's netflix for that.
GitS presents two big subjects to the forefront of the viewer's attention in a fleshy well-rounded manner, perking notions about artificial intelligence and the nature of reality. For one example, the movie considers that memories are only data, so the implant of false mamories can divert a person's mental processes in the desired direction.
I forget what the other thing was. Something must have distracted me.
The artwork in GitS must also be mentioned, as the movie was filled with hand-drawn bent-light effects and beautifully detailed background scenes. The foreground was quite appealing also.
All in all, the intelligent story and the excellent artwork make TitS a true classic of the anime genre. Like it, or GTFO.
