The Globe and Fail
May. 25th, 2013 08:52 pmFrom a recent item in the Toronto Globe and Mail:
The leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party won’t back down from his party’s controversial [anti-]immigration policies despite the recent killing of a soldier in London which has increased racial tension.
So either this reporter and/or his editor seriously expect a right-wing nativist party that hates immigrants to suddenly be more tolerant after two second-generation immigrants chop off a Briton's head in downtown London, or this piece is a subversive promotion of the UKIP. I'm leaning towards it being the latter. They bothered to interview the UKIP party leader and publish his words, and they gave it a ridiculous lede that looks like a rightist strawman of leftist unthinking. This is red meat to people who would agree with the UKIP.
